Poker blind timer

A poker blind timer that does more than count down.

Build the blind structure once, save it, reuse it forever. Poker Hawk's blind timer handles levels, antes, breaks, audio cues, and the rest of the tournament alongside the clock — all in sync across desktop, mobile, and TV.

Why blind structure matters

The structure is the strategy.

Players don't talk about "the timer" — they talk about the structure. How long are the levels? How fast do the blinds escalate? When does the ante kick in? When's the break? Get the structure right and the tournament breathes naturally. Get it wrong and you're either rushing the final table or watching the field stall out at level 4.

Poker Hawk lets you build the structure visually: drag levels, edit blinds and antes per row, schedule breaks where they make sense for your room. Save the structure as a template and reuse it across events. Edit a saved template and Poker Hawk asks if you want to save the change as a new variant or update the original.

The same blind timer that powers a 200-player club tournament powers a 6-handed Friday night home game — same templates, same controls, same workflows. You learn it once and it scales with your events.

Blind timer features

Built around real tournament workflows.

Everything you need to set, save, and run blind structures — without spreadsheet math.

Drag-edit blind structures

Add, remove, or reorder levels. Edit blinds, antes, and level duration per row. Save as a reusable template.

Built-in templates

Standard, Turbo, Hyper-Turbo, Deepstack, Home Game, and League starter structures. Clone and customize any of them.

Smart break scheduling

Schedule breaks by level number or by elapsed time. Auto-resume after a break or wait for the host to confirm.

Ante schedule control

Per-player or big-blind ante. Define when antes start and how they escalate alongside the blinds.

Audio + visual cues

Level-end warning, new-level chime, break start/end. Subtle on the TV, prominent on the host control surface.

One-tap level adjust

Need to add 5 minutes to the current level? Skip ahead? Roll back? The host has live controls without breaking the timer.

Synced everywhere

TV, host laptop, and every player phone show the same time-left and current level — no manual refresh.

Structure export

Print a structure sheet for the rail or share a link with players before the event so they know what they're walking into.

Build a structure

Save a custom blind structure in five minutes.

Once it's saved, every future event uses it with one click.

  1. Step 01

    Start from a template

Clone Standard, Turbo, or Deepstack — whichever is closest to what you want. Editing from a starting point is faster than building from scratch.

  2. Step 02

    Adjust levels and antes

Edit blind amounts, level durations, and ante schedule. Insert or remove levels as needed. Drop in breaks where the room needs them.

  3. Step 03

    Save + reuse

Name your template (e.g. "Friday Night $30") and it's available the next time you start an event — and the time after that.

FAQ

Blind timer questions

Common questions about structures, antes, and customization.

Can I import a blind structure from another timer app?
You can recreate it in the structure editor in under a minute — just type in the levels, blinds, and antes from your source. We don't auto-import from competitor formats today, but the manual rebuild is fast and once it's in Poker Hawk it's saved forever.
How many saved structures can I have?
Unlimited on all paid Host plans. Free trial accounts can save up to three structures. Most clubs end up with 5-10 saved templates (one per event series).
Can I edit a structure mid-event?
Yes. The host can add time to the current level, skip ahead, or roll back. Bigger structural changes (re-editing future levels) are also possible — the change applies from the next level onward and is logged in the event audit trail.
Does the timer support big-blind ante?
Yes. Set the ante type to "Big Blind Ante" in the structure editor and the BB pays the ante for the whole table instead of every player anteing individually.
Can I disable the audio cues?
Yes. Audio can be muted on the TV, the host machine, or both. The visual cues (color flash on the timer, level-end animation) stay on so the room still sees the transition.
Can players see the structure ahead of time?
Yes. Share a club link or event link before the event starts and players can preview the full structure (all levels, all blinds, all breaks) from their phone.
What happens if I pause the timer for a chop?
The level holds, the timer holds, the prize pool stays correct. Pausing is logged with timestamps so the event timeline accurately reflects what happened.
