About blind structures
What the settings do, and how to pick them.
Because a structure is useless if it asks for a 150 chip when the smallest denomination in your box is 25. Every level here is rounded to a denomination that is actually on the table, and the rounding base climbs as the small chips get coloured up — so you never hit a level you cannot physically make change for.
The schedule is built to run at least as long as you asked, with about an hour of padding on the end so the tournament does not run out of levels while people are still playing. Real finish times move with re-entries, breaks and how fast your table plays, so treat the target as the shape of the night rather than a promise.
It shapes how fast the blinds climb. 1 spreads the increase evenly across the levels. Higher accelerates the late game and shortens the tournament in practice; lower flattens the curve and keeps play deeper for longer. 1.4 is a good default for a home game — turbo structures sit nearer 1.8.
Antes speed up the late game by putting dead money in every pot, which is why most live tournaments add them once the field thins. For a casual home game they add collection work at the table for little gain, so this generator leaves them off by default. A big blind ante — one player posting for the table — is the least fiddly option if you want them.
