Late registration strategies
By level, by break, or by minutes — and what each means for your blind structure.
Late registration lets players enter after the official start. Poker Hawk supports three gating modes — pick the one that matches how you want to pace the event.
- •By level: close at end of level N. Easiest for players to plan around.
- •By break: close at the first scheduled break. Generous — gives commuters a full warmup.
- •By minutes: close X minutes after start. Simple but ignores actual pace.
For recreational home games, "by level 4" is a solid default — enough runway for stragglers without stretching the deep-stack phase too far.
