Switching from The Tournament Director
Coming from TD? Here’s how Poker Hawk maps to what you know — and where it does more.
If you’ve run tournaments on The Tournament Director (TD), you already understand the hard parts — blind structures, rebuys, payouts, seating. Poker Hawk keeps all of that and removes the setup grind: instead of one dense settings window, you get a guided setup, and instead of a single PC, you run the whole night from your phone with the room watching a synced display.
What carries over
Every concept you used in TD has a home here. See the full feature map for the term-by-term translation — rounds become blind levels, prizes become payouts, layouts become the HUD and Theme Studio, and so on.
What’s different (in a good way)
- •You run it from your phone or laptop — no dedicated PC chained to the TV.
- •Players get their own app: seat assignments, the clock, and re-entry in their pocket.
- •TVs pair wirelessly and multiple screens can show different views — see Displays, HUD & TV.
- •Everything is cloud-synced and backed up — no lost .tdt files, no “which laptop had the latest structure?”
