Practice with a sandbox

Run a pretend tournament to learn the live screens — nothing counts, and it deletes itself after a day.

A sandbox is a real tournament with pretend players — the clock, payouts and displays all work. It isn’t saved to history or stats, doesn’t use a tournament from your plan, and doesn’t count as your first game: the Run it step on Your first game waits for a real one. It’s deleted automatically about 24 hours after you start it.

Start one

  • •Phone: the Tournament tab (the trophy) › Create › Sandbox, the same Create on a club’s Tournaments tab, or Try it in a sandbox first on the setup wizard’s Review & Launch step.
  • •Desktop: Tournament setup › Launch now › Launch sandbox… (Schedule offers it too).
  • •Right after you create a club, both apps offer Try a sandbox game.
  • •Hawk Academy: with no tournament running, live-screen walkthroughs say Opens on a practice sandbox, and Try it starts one — never while you’re running a real tournament.

By default you get six pretend players waiting to check in and a sample structure set to begin 15 minutes after launch. Before launching you can pick a preset instead, set 2 to 30 players, use copies of your club’s members (names only — their accounts are never touched), pre-check some in, run a fast clock (2-minute levels) or start mid-tournament.

End it

On your phone, Menu › End Sandbox. On desktop, the square End sandbox button in the controller’s top bar (a SANDBOX tag sits beside the tournament’s name). It ends like a real game, then shows Sandbox results; tap Close & discard sandbox, or just leave the screen, and it’s gone.
